project of the year
Conducted together with the European Union, Project of the Year has gained the fame of a fair
competition thanks to a transparent procedure, neutralized of the mutual influence of “scratch
my back and I’ll scratch yours.” This is achieved by implementing an average score method
conducted simultaneously by 8 judges. Chaired this year by Álvaro Siza Vieira, the panel includes
architects Prof Baruch Baruch, Rony Seibert, David Nofar, Yoel Dvoriansky, Oded Rozenkier, and
Ami Shmuely.
The aim of the international competition is to promote creative, feasible, climate and environmentally
aware design and, in this respect, intelligent solutions may gain a higher score than complex ones.
