Kinneret-Zmora-Dvir House,
industrial zone, Shoham
Auerbach Halevy Architects
Kinneret-Zmora-Bitan-Dvir – one of the oldest
publications in Israel - has moved to its new
home in the industrial zone of Shoham,
concentrating all the activities in one complex -
offices, a logistic warehouse that contains three
million books, the first of which were published
by Dvir Publishing House, founded by Chaim
Nachman Bialik.
The colorful, aesthetic graphics of
hundreds of thousands of books
are symbolically translated into
colorful glass tiles, decorating the
round facade against a severe,
white background.
Connecting the wings of the
building, an inner courtyard
includes a three-storey library,
constituting a partition between the
offices and the logistic warehouse.
The design reflects sustainable
thinking, expressed by self-
shading and natural, filtered light
penetration.
