Pfhotenhauerstraße
The Center for Systems Biology,
Dresden, Germany, 2017
Planned as part of the Institute of Molecular
Cell Biology and Genetics 15 years ago,
by the same architects, the building’s point
of attraction is the light louver in the front,
designed as an architectural metaphor for
posing questions and solving problems;
processing from complexity to clarity.
Cardinal to the architecture is a verandah
for random encounters of research staff in
a friendly atmosphere, releasing them from
the gray atmosphere of the research rooms.
