Although inspiring
,
the name Hope of Glory was arbitrarily recycled from an
afro-shop next-door. The firm was founded in 2006 by three friends - Clemens
Luser, Martin Emmerer and Hansjörg Luser - a triumvirate of three characters with
different skills, experiences, but a common concern to make good architecture.
From this starting point, HoG generates their working method: At the start of each
project is a joint discussion about the task at hand, a debate about the place,
situation, and context - always similar, always with an open mind, until a viable
interpretation is found. These different approaches and their constantly changing
balance generate solutions, which are never subordinate to any particular style
formula, and nor do they lead to formal fashion.
All arguments, whether analytical-structural, artistic, socially-oriented, or
pragmatic, are equally legitimate, but are always determined anew. Recognizable
branding is not a matter of concern to us; on the other hand, our constants are well
conceived spaces, appropriate conceptual gestures, functionality, a high quality
of technical execution, differentiated material selection and a good dialogue with
the client.
HoG has no fixed clientele, orders are generated primarily through competitions
or recommendations. The range of our projects goes from cultural buildings,
large residential projects, building tasks in the historical context to small new
projects or conversions for private clients. Beside the architectonic work, the
interest in scientific questions, artistic projects or the communication between the
architectural topics enriches HoG's potential.
