דבר העורך עמי רן חרטה והכרת תודה בעולם החארטה ------------------------------------ לפני 37 שנים, כשחיפשנו שם קצר לגיליון מספר 1 של אדריכלות ישראלית, תקפה אותנו ״הארה״, ועפנו על ראשי התיבות AI שנלקחות מן המילים Architecture of Israel בעברית, באנגלית, בערבית וביידיש. שלושים שנה חלפו עד ששם המגזין - AI הפך למושג הנפוץ ביותר בעולם, מה שגורם לרבים לשאול אותנו מדוע שלא תתבעו דמי שימוש על הקניין הרוחני הזה?... התשובה שאימצנו מתוך חרדה לשלוות הנפש שלנו היא ״אנחנו שוקלים...״ ובכלל, אין לי שמץ של מושג מה נעשה בכל המיליארדים שנקבל... ואם בכלל, זה בטח יהיה בעולם הבא, ולך תדע אם יש שם בכלל חנויות, בתי קפה, ומקומות לעשות על האש - שמעתי שמרשים להדליק רק באגף של הרשעים. אני חייב להודות שזה מביא לי נחת, שאנחנו לא מביישים את השם -AI, למרות העוינות העולמית שפיתחנו לאחרונה במדמנה הבעייתית שהתרגלנו לשחות בה, בלי חרטה או הכרת תודה, תלוי מאיזה כיוון מסתכלים. פרופיל העונה ערן זילברמן - רגבים + אדריכלים ------------------------------------ אדריכל ערן זילברמן גדל בקריות. ״ילד עכו״ רגיל, שהגיע לתחום לגמרי במקרה. הוא אינו נצר לשום שושלת אדריכלים, אבל כנראה אחד האדריכלים האופטימיים שעדיין מאמינים שלאדריכלות יש כוח לתקן את המציאות. כבעל כשרון מולד לציור, שמעיד על עצמו שהוא מחזיק עפרון ביד באופן אובססיבי, הוא היה משוכנע שהנתיב הנכון עבורו יהיה משהו בתחום האמנות או העיצוב הגרפי. אבל למציאות היו תוכניות אחרות עבורו. לאחר שפעמיים לא התקבל ל"בצלאל", הוא נרשם בשנת 1996 ללימודי אדריכלות בפקולטה לאדריכלות בטכניון, וסיים בהצטיינות.	8

חומר למחשבה עד מתי רשעים יעלוזו וצדיקים יזילו דימעה ------------------------------------ הסיבה העיקרית כיום למצבה העלוב של האדריכלות בארץ, היא ההתנכלות חסרת המעצורים של הרשויות המקומיות כלפי מבקשי ההיתרים. ודי לעמוד על כמות השינויים והתיקונים שמאפיינים את חוק התכנון והבנייה, כדי להבין שהאדריכלות בבעיה קשה. הסיבה לכך היא שהשינויים שנכתבים על ידי פקידים ועורכי דין שמעולם לא תכננו בניין והבנתם באדריכלות שואפת לאפס, נועדים בעיקר לחיזוק מאווייהם הכספיים של רשויות המקומיות, ועל הדרך, לסדר עבודה ליועצים המשפטיים שלהם, שחלקם הגדול פועל בניגוד לנהלים. התוצאה בפועל היא ניצול ציני של כוחות פוליטיים אל מול ציבור האדריכלים, תוך הגבלת חופש היצירה הגורם להנמכה מעליבה של רמת האדריכלות.	52
אורח העונה MAD אדריכל מא ינסונג, סין ------------------------------------ באוניברסיטת ביג׳ינג, הוא המשיך לתואר שני באוניברסיטת ייל, שבה תכנן את פרויקט הגמר שלו במסגרת תחרות השיקום של מרכז הסחר העולמי. הפרויקט שכונה על ידו ״האי הצף״ היה מבוסס על גן מרחף מעל הגראונד זירו – רעיון שהוא ממשיך לעסוק בו למעשה עד היום. רעיון מרכזי בעבודתו הוא “עיר השאנשוי” – חזון עירוני רוחני שנועד ליצור סוג של הרמוניה חדשה בין החברה, העיר והטבע – רעיון שמעסיק אותו למעשה בכל פרויקט שמתוכנן במסגרת משרד MAD, שאותו הוא הקים לאחר שעבד תקופה מסויימת במשרד של זאהה חדיד בלונדון.	62

‏‏gratitude and regret ן in the fake world editorial ------------------------------------ 37 years ago, when we were looking for a short initials for issue number 1 of Architecture of Israel, we were struck by a "revelation" of AI that perfectly describes the first two letters of the name - in Hebrew, English, Arabic, and probably Yiddish. Thirty years have passed since this combination became the most common concept in the world, causing many to ask us why we don't you charge royalties for the intellectual property?... And the answer we adopted out of fear for our peace of mind is: we are considering it... In the meantime, the magazine is skyrocketing thanks to its quality... And in general, I have no idea what we would do with all the billions we may charge... If anything it will probably happen in the Next World, and who knows if there are at all shops, cafes, and restaurants - I heard that there is fire only in the wicked's wing.	89
‏‏Guest of the season MAD - Architect Ma Yansong, China ------------------------------------ Ma Yansong - the principal architect and founder of MAD Architects, was born in Beijing in 1975. After completing his undergraduate studies in architecture at Beijing’s Tsinghua University, he pursued a master’s degree at Yale University, where he submitted his thesis as part of the World Trade Center reconstruction competition. His project, titled The Floating Island, was based on the concept of a “floating garden” above Ground Zero—an idea he has continued to explore to this day.	88
‏Food for thought How Long Shall the Wicked Rejoice ------------------------------------ The main reason for the current dismal state of architecture in Israel is the unchecked harassment by local authorities of Building Permit applicants. One needs only to count the endless amendments and revisions of the Planning and Building Laws to understand that architecture here is in serious crisis. The reason for that is that continuous legal changes are written by clerks and lawyers who have never designed a building and possess a near-zero understanding of architecture. They primarily serve to strengthen municipal control and create ongoing jobs for legal advisors, many of whom operate in blatant violation of regulations, cynically exploit their authority, restrict creative freedom and degrade the quality of architecture to humiliating lows.	61

‏Profile of the season Eran Zilberman - Regavim + Architects ------------------------------------ A simple “Akko kid”, Architect Eran Zilberman grew up in the Krayot. While not a descendant of an architectural dynasty, he is undoubtedly one of the most optimistic architects who still believes that architecture has the capacity to repair reality. Gifted with a natural talent for drawing, he reached the field of architecture almost by chance. Holding a drawing pencil obsessively, Zilberman was certain his path lay in the arts or graphic design. But reality had other plans and after twice being rejected by the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, he enrolled in the Faculty of Architecture at the Technion in 1996 and graduated with distinction.	38
