Kiryat Hamelacha in south Tel Aviv was
founded during the 60’s as a joint initiative
of the Municipality and the Manufacturers
Association, creating a workshop center
for modern production. However, deserted
at night, it turns into an unsavory area
that threatens adjacent neighborhoods.
The project was inspired by the world of
parasites - existing buildings constituting
hosts and unsavory area – parasites.
The project proposes utilizing existing
buildings and the conceptual system to
create a dynamic space that combines
housing, industry, workshops, commerce
and leisure activities - a social fabric that
ensures mutual enrichment and residents’
presence at all hours of day and night.
