The National Memorial

Hall for the Fallen

Mount Herzl, Jerusalem.

Kimmel Eshkolot Architects, in

collaboration with

Chechik Kalush Architects

Intended to commemorate Israel's fallen soldiers, the memorial

hall inherently reflects the concept of growth from darkness

to light. 24,000 aluminum bricks – each bearing the name of

one of the fallen – create a wall 260 meters long, forming a

spiral route climbing upward from the assembly hall with its

400 seats to the exit on the mountain.

Project architect:

Limor Amrani.

Construction:

Steinberg Engineers.
