destination, though it’s great to know you

work at something you love to do…

Well. Since I paid for the meal.. you’ll write

the Epilog… until the next delight…

I think that the importance of qualitative public

space is clear today to everyone, over and

above the single building, no matter how

impressive or iconic. In terms of a public

building, we achieve it by getting involved

in all aspects of the work in order to end

up with an area for potential interaction. It’s

an approach I strive to implement in urban

renewal projects – an area our office is slowly

getting involved with. The problem is that as

a result of housing shortage, the subject of

housing is focused on quantity, prices and

availability, while quality remains unresolved.

This means that every free corner is

hysterically covered up with poor quality

built fabrics, providing poor conditions for the

Israeli culture to evolve from. I believe that

our environment is what forms us, far more

than we form it. And so it is important to put

up varied living areas for future Israeli culture.

It doesn’t have to be more expensive and I

think we architects can and should contribute

to this.
