Private house, Irus (a community settlement,
Gan Raveh)
Due to the negative connotation of the Brutalist
Style of the 60’s and 70’s, bare concrete houses
are still rare in Israel, thus missing the advantages
of concrete as a finishing material. Located on
500sqm. the sealed house is mainly experienced
through a sculpted staircase leading to the upper
floor, where the children's rooms are located.
Seemingly random windows in this intriguing
structure, are situated like the openings in the
mantle, in order to frame the changing vistas
according to the observer's angle.
Located unusually on the ground floor, the master
suite is "concealed" by “hidden” doors leading to
the parking and storage area, from which one can
control everything in the house
