Overlooking the Galilee and the Sea of
Galilee, the house was designed for a
family with three children. Bearing the
scenery in mind, all rooms have south and
east exposure - two directions that require
active shading. For this, sliding timber
lattices have been designed that can be
moved according to weather conditions
and required privacy.
The recessed openings behind improve
climatic comfort with passive shading that
allows penetration of a low sun in winter,
while blocking high rays in summer.
Constituting a prominent design element,
the dynamic lattices allow the simple,
rectangular structure to integrate into the
rural landscape, without diminishing its
spatial presence.
