Recently completed in the area of Ein
Bokek, the new promenade is part of the
rehabilitation process of the drying Dead
Sea tourism. Particularly affected is the
southern basin, actually an industrial pool
today.
Special efforts were made to maintain a
permanent sea-level, required for the hotels
which have been badly affected by the
deteriorating situation. In this framework,
the beaches, which until recently have
served the hotels alone, were opened to the
public along a 13 kilometer promenade that
includes paths and shaded sitting areas.
The beaches have been widened and their
height adjusted to the planned water level.
