Nature Museum, Jerusalem - First prize in an open, two-stage

competition, 2012

Planned in collaboration with Schwartz-Besnosoff Architects

the complex, located in the museums' domain, spreads over an

area of 23,000

sq.ms.

The museum is organized as a spatial

continuum of buildings, situated on top of and adjacent to one

another as a metaphor for the evolutionary development of the

Man/environment relationship.

Dismantling the mass both in terms of

the section, plan and façades yields a

flexible compound, enabling the addition

or subtraction of buildings according to

changing needs, without impinging on

exhibition halls that “touch- don’t-touch” the

environment.

The visitors’ route that includes the roofs of

the building leads to the Museum Avenue in

the middle of a park - enriching the exhibition.

Design:

Shachar Lulav and Oded Rozenkier,

Architect Prof. Gabi Schwartz – Schwartz-

Besnosoff Architects.
