Kyly Sauna, Helsinki, 2009
The ancient Karelian word Kyly means
bath. Designed for a competition at
the Habitare Fair, the structure is
made of simple timber logs, joined
only with wooden pegs to allow the
precious material to be reused after the
exhibition. The separate functions - a
sauna, dressing room, shower and ofuro
bath create a complex and intimate
composition with a minimal footprint.

בשיטת הבנייה הפינית המסורתית, כדי ליצור
קומפוזיציה אינטימית של חללים מבודדים הכוללים
סאונה, מלתחה, מקלחת ואמבטיה.
