כבר 35 שנה אני מתעמת ארבע פעמים בשנה עם השאלה על מה לכתוב את הטור הזה, ומחכה בסבלות בכל פעם שמשהו מעניין יתרחש ויפתור לי את הדילמה של כמה מנויים יזדהו איתי, וכמה מהם יגישו בקשה לבטל את המינוי. בכל פעם אני שואל את עצמי מחדש, איך זה יכול להיות ששתי קבוצות שאין ביניהן שום קשר ותיאום מוקדם, whatsoever, נוצרות כמעט באותו גודל, כמו למשל מספר זהה של זכרים ונקבות, בוחרי ימין ובוחרי שמאל, מאמינים וכופרים, אותו מספר שוטרים וגנבים, גוזלים ונגזלים, אותו מספר של פרשני מלחמה קשקשנים, שיודעים לעשות פרצוף של ידענים, כמעט כמו מספר אלה שמאזינים להם כאילו הם באמת יודעים משהו שאנחנו לא יודעים. |

And since then, this misleading comment has been quoted blindly by all who do not really understand what architecture is, and certainly not the uniqueness of the flowing Baroque architecture Goethe actually referred to.
Well, while musical texture refers to limited layers of sounds and rhythms produced by a number of sources, architectural texture is expressed in countless shapes, materials, and proportions, not to mention functional connections that allocate and connect various relationships throughout the structure. |
