House in herzliya pituach

Shortage of available plots for private building and the consequential sky-rocketing prices of homes often require architects to maximize exploitation of the building potential. In such a reality, the structure is pushed to the building’s lines and even beyond, reducing the open areas - thereby actually determining their nature.

In this building the outside mantle of the first floor was built parallel to the building’s lines, while the inner one is conservatively rectangle. Thus, the geometric difference between the two has been exploited to create multi-purpose intermediary spaces - a shaded porch, a swimming pool and an English court-yard, turning the basement into an intimate living floor. This unique combination grants the building dynamicity, while enriching both the interior and external spaces.

The blurring of boundaries between out and in is farther strengthened by refraining from installing posts at the corners, thereby turning the windows into large lighting bodies, which at dark radiate the inside activities out, amongst the silvery poplar trees.
